Satanic New Zealand
What Satanic New Zealand is.
Satanic New Zealand or Satanic Aotearoa is The Society of Satan New Zealand Incorporated.
It isn’t a religion, church, or order (per se) in itself – and although we discuss and debate; no member should try to coerce or force anyone to hold their own views. Members also include “de-facto Satanists,” and people with strongly similar views and desires to us. We think that if you have it right, the benefits of that are your own.
SNZ exists for the practical purposes of it’s members.
We aim to keep SNZ as a mature union-like society for Satanists in the unique situation of living in Aotearoa / New Zealand.
Satanic New Zealand does not try to bridge wide range of Satanic views in Aotearoa / New Zealand – and we encourage mature debate and expression. While we advocate for individuals, SNZ does try to facilitate many other things that it’s members find easier and more effectively done with collective force.
We see that the essence of Satanic authority begins and ends with the self: that “black flame” of primal individual being for which in myth Lucifer challenged God and fell from heaven to gift to us / curse us with – and thus became “Satan,” literally meaning “the accursed one.” We also find that parallels of this archetype might be found in most cultures around the globe, historically and presently. The many personifications of this common theme of “Other” seems to teach us a lot about ourselves – and each presents us with a powerful muse.
The concept of social contract (Although nominally expounded by Locke, Hume, and Rousseau around the mid 1700s) – that under the right conditions a group can help the individual to live more fully, be more powerful, fulfil more of their goals as long as a certain etiquette is agreed on… is a very old one.
Elect Members make the society a useful tool; one just for those who see themselves as “travelers of the left hand path” in general – focused primarily on the current issues and conditions particular to Aotearoa / New Zealand.
A short history of Satanic New Zealand :
by F. Vegas, pres.
Once upon a time, long ago, there lived a witch princess. When the witch princess was very young her parents were killed while on a journey of great importance to the domain of the witches in those lands.
The witch princess discovered she had a powerful magical aura that charmed the animals around her. When angered, she was able to summon large groups of nearby felines into attacking the things she interpreted as a threat.

What Satanism is.
From: The Society of Satan New Zealand Incorporated Constitution
by I.Xem.S, secretary
“Satanism is a mainly pseudo-theistic set of sincerely held religious beliefs that recognises Satan as a culturally supreme and potent archetype or symbol of rebellion against spiritual, physical, legal or psychological tyranny.
De-Facto Satanism is any school of thought or the practices of any person whom Satanists may respect and identify with, regardless of nomenclature.
Satanism values self-honesty, self-determination, talent, rational inquiry, non-proselytization, anti-evangelism, optimal psychology, pragmatic individualism, balanced social affluence, “realism” over hypocritical self-deceit, acceptance of human subjectivity, and above all the sovereign right of a person over their own body and mind.
Satanism values, lauds, and encourages ability, sensitivity, genuine empathy (not artificial sympathy), talent, and merit; and so true Satanism is antithetical to all forms of casual or organised bigotry. The Society holds that any group who take any name of Satan, yet who hold to such doctrines; to be liars, slanderers, charlatans, and fools.
Bigotry is to hold to an ideal or idea which has been demonstrated to be false or incorrect. Facile is an argument which is overly simplistic in it’s consideration of the facts, to the degree that it must be considered false or misleading. All satanic movements recognise that such ideals, “phantasies,” and “convenient truths” are usually used to deceive and herd deficient human beings into servitude, exploitation and subjugation.
Therefore, mob mentality and facile thinking are seen as what might be termed vice – (behaviour or habit that impedes or lessens us).
Therefore, self-denial is no factor in determining what might be termed vice or virtue.
Therefore, race or other group membership is no determining factor of who possesses what might be termed virtue – (Behaviours or qualities that makes us better or grants us more of what is desirable).
Therefore disability, race, ethnicity, sex, gender, sexual preference, species, etc is no material factor in a person’s value – or even in determining personhood.
Therefore, bigotry of any kind must be considered patently ridiculous by a Satanist.
Although a Satanist may potentially renounce human society and become a hermit, as Nietzsche’s Zarathustra for a time, SNZ focusses on the Individual within society. As in nature, and societies, individuals form a social contract in order for individuals to gain enhanced and increased benefit. Although pedants may argue against the paradoxes of “groups of individualists” – members of Satanic New Zealand, as with members of Satanic organisations worldwide; see this unnecessary sophistry as useless, unbeneficial, unpragmatic, probably manipulative nonsense.
All authentic Satanic philosophies and schools of thought recognise the unfortunate potential difference between Justice and Rule of Law. Satanic New Zealand admits people as members who demonstrate this understanding.
All authentic Satanic philosophies and schools of thought recognise the importance of the Scientific method in discovery and determining lies and falsehood from truth – and stand against the power of those who seek to supplant fact with faith. We also recognise that Science is by definition a limited tool of limited human beings, and subject to question through scientific, rational inquiry. Satanic New Zealand admits people as members who demonstrate this understanding.
All authentic Satanic philosophies recognise the difference between “Spiritual Pipedreams,” and fanatical idealism – and acceptance of the human condition as a starting point from which humans may develop themselves. Satanic New Zealand admits people as members who demonstrate this understanding.
All authentic Satanic philosophies recognise the difference between a “thoughts-and-prayers” approach, or a similarly couched apathy – and the potential and indeed inevitability for a person or persons to cause change in the world with both effort and wisdom. The maxim of “Lex Talionis” means “Law of Retaliation;” although Satanists recognise the damaging effects of obsession with the negative, we know that standing idle while we are wronged does nothing of benefit. Satanic New Zealand admits people as members who demonstrate this understanding.
All authentic Satanic philosophies recognise and value human subjectivity. What is good for the goose is not necessarily good for the gander. Humanity is unable to attain absolute objectivity – and that much of what is material to people is totally subjective, or part of or approaching a shared subjectivity – including language, money, designed objects – and even as quantum physics is discovering, material itself. “Weirdness,” “Freakiness,” and non-conformity often work better for a person than the same old beaten path. Those who sacrifice their own self too much to fit in, never really achieve fulfilment in life – so what’s the point?
All authentic Satanic philosophies recognise and value that human beings are just as much animals as other animals, and that animals possess the same-but-different subjectivity that humans do. Satanism recognises that we are rising apes, and not really fallen angels at all.
All authentic Satanic philosophies recognise that a person’s “daemonic nature,” circumstances, and individual values can never be absolutely the same from person to person or from group to group – although we may share some key things in common. Satanic New Zealand seeks to enshrine and protect that quality we describe as “The Black Flame” as it has manifested in Satanists in New Zealand. This is a very unique place, a different kind of jungle compared with the USA, the UK, Australia, Turkey, Egypt, or anywhere else. We would not really be Satanists if we did not recognise and embrace these differences. SNZ seeks to conduct ourselves accordingly.”
